Who is responsible
Journare is run as a sole proprietorship registered in the Netherlands. For anything in this policy, that entity is the data controller.

What is collected, and why
Only what the product needs to work. There is no profiling, no advertising, and nothing is sold.
| Data | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Email address and password | To create your account and let you sign back in. The password is stored as a hash, never as text. | Performance of a contract |
| Your trades, accounts, strategies and goals | This is the product. It is stored so you can see it again and so the statistics can be calculated. | Performance of a contract |
| Chart screenshots you upload | Shown alongside the trade you attached them to. Stored in a private bucket, not publicly reachable. | Performance of a contract |
| Feedback and bug reports you send | To understand and fix the problem. Includes the browser and screen details you can see before sending. | Legitimate interest in fixing faults |
| Technical error reports | When something breaks, a report is sent so it can be fixed. Scrubbed of your trades and your email — see below. | Legitimate interest in a working service |
| Server logs | Kept by the hosting provider for security and troubleshooting. Includes IP address. | Legitimate interest in security |
What is deliberately not collected
- No analytics or tracking scripts on the website or in the app.
- No advertising identifiers, no ad networks, no third-party pixels.
- No connection to your broker or prop firm. You enter your account's rules yourself; Journare never sees your real balance unless you type it in.
- No payment details. Payments are not possible yet. When they are, a payment provider will handle the card and this policy will be updated before that happens.
Cookies
The website at journare.com sets no cookies at all and needs no cookie banner. The app at app.journare.com stores a session token so you stay signed in, and your theme choice, on your own device. Both are strictly necessary for the service to work, so no consent is required for them. Neither is used to follow you anywhere.
Who processes your data
These are the parties that handle data on our behalf. Each one is bound by an agreement to process it only for the purpose described.
| Processor | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication and file storage — this is where your account and trades live | EU region |
| Vercel | Hosting for the website and the app, and server logs | United States, under EU standard contractual clauses |
| Sentry | Technical error reports, scrubbed of personal data | EU region |
Services that receive no personal data
Twelve Data supplies the market prices we use for the opening-range filter. Our server asks it for a ticker symbol and a range of dates — SPY and the last thirty days, for example. No account, no email address, no trade and nothing that identifies you is ever sent. The prices that come back describe the market and are the same for everyone, so they are shared between all accounts.
Because Twelve Data never receives personal data, it is not a processor under the GDPR. We list it here because you are entitled to know which outside services the product depends on.
Transfers outside the EU
Your account and trades are stored in the EU. Hosting runs partly in the United States, which is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. The market data service is in the United States, but nothing personal reaches it — see above.
How long it is kept
- Your account and everything in it — for as long as you have an account. Delete the account and it goes with it.
- Deleted trades, accounts and strategies — removed immediately when you delete them. There is no bin to recover from.
- Feedback and bug reports — kept up to two years, so a recurring problem can be recognised.
- Error reports — kept 90 days, then deleted automatically.
- Server logs — kept by the hosting provider for a short period under their own policy, typically 30 days.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction of anything wrong, deletion, a copy in a portable format, restriction of processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interest.
Most of it you can do yourself. Everything you entered is visible and editable in the app, and under Account menu → Delete accountyou can remove the whole thing yourself: your trades, accounts, strategies, goals, uploaded screenshots, anything you reported and your sign-in. That screen offers an export of your data first, and asks you to type your email address before it goes through. It happens immediately and cannot be undone — there is no bin to recover it from.
For anything else on that list, email support@journare.com. You get a reply within 30 days, usually far sooner. There is no charge.
If you think your data is being handled wrongly, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it.
Security
Every table is protected by row-level security, which means a row can only be read by the account that created it — not by other users, and not by an unauthenticated request. This is verified with an automated test that signs in as two separate accounts and checks that each one fails to read, change or delete the other's data. Everything travels over HTTPS. Uploaded screenshots sit in a private bucket that is not publicly reachable.
No system is beyond breaking. If a breach happens that puts your rights at risk, you will be told, and the authority will be notified within 72 hours as the law requires.
Children
Journare is not intended for anyone under 18 and no account should be created by one.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change materially affects what happens to your data, you will hear about it by email before it takes effect, not afterwards.
