Plan the trade before you take it. A futures trading journal that keeps your prop firm rules in view.

Fill in the range, your entry and your stop, and you get the whole setup: 1R in points, your target at the multiple you trade, what it risks in money, and how many contracts that comes to. Log the trade and Journare tracks your trailing drawdown, daily loss limit and profit target against the rules you entered.

Built for prop firm accounts. You enter the firm's rules once — trailing drawdown, daily loss limit, consistency — and every trade you log is checked against them. Your own account works exactly the same way.

What it does

A calculator during the trade, a journal afterwards

Two jobs that belong together: get the position right before you click, and keep a record honest enough to tell you something a few hundred trades later.

A position size calculator that knows your rules

Type the range and your entry. Journare works out the stop, the target and the number of contracts from the risk percentage and contract cap you set for that account. The panel updates while you type, so you are not doing arithmetic while the range breaks.

  • Contracts from your own risk per trade, capped by the account's contract limit
  • Stop and target follow from the range and your target multiple; both can be overridden
  • Warns you before a trade that would breach the daily loss limit

One strategy, every account

A strategy rarely lives on one account. Journare totals it in R, so a 50K evaluation and a 150K funded account stay comparable. Money stays inside each account and is never added across currencies.

  • R is dimensionless, so account size and currency stop distorting the comparison
  • See per account how often the strategy was traded and what it returned
  • Trades that met your filter are counted separately from the ones that did not

A drawdown tracker for your prop firm rules

Most funded accounts are lost to the rules, not to the strategy. You enter the limits once and Journare keeps checking them while you log: trailing drawdown, daily loss limit, profit target, consistency.

  • Trailing drawdown from your peak balance, with the breach level spelled out
  • Your worst day measured against the daily loss limit
  • Consistency rule flagged when one day carries too much of the total

Discipline before P&L

A day counts as good because you followed your rules, not because you made money. A winner where you moved your stop counts against you. Over a few hundred trades that number tells you more than the running total does, because it is the part you actually control.

  • Every trade records whether you followed every rule
  • Days you correctly skipped are counted as reps, not as nothing
  • The discipline score sits next to win rate and expectancy, not beneath them
A Journare discipline score of 86 percent, with trades taken, correctly skipped days and win rate beside it.

A calendar that colours on discipline

Green is a day you followed your rules. Red is a day you did not, including the days you made money. The result is still written in each square, but it is not what decides the colour.

  • A month at a glance, with the result per day in R
  • Skipped days stay green when skipping was the right call
  • Best and worst day of the month, and how the month is tracking
A month calendar in Journare where each day is coloured green or red by discipline, with the result in R written in the square.

What each mistake actually costs

Tag a trade with what went wrong and Journare adds it up. Moving your stop, entering before the close, sizing up after a loss — each one gets a number, worst first, in R and in money.

  • Your own labels, not a fixed list someone else wrote
  • Per mistake: how often, win rate, average result and total cost
  • Makes the expensive habit obvious, which is usually not the one you expected
A Journare mistakes overview listing each tagged mistake with how often it occurred and what it cost in R and in money.

Goals on three levels

Set a goal for everything you trade, for one account, or for one strategy. Reps logged, discipline score, total R, win rate. Pin the ones that matter and they sit on your home screen.

  • Levels that match how you actually think: all trading, one account, one strategy
  • Progress is computed from your trades, so there is nothing to tick off by hand
  • Reps are a goal type, because volume of practice is the thing early on

Every screen in the theme you want

Dark by default. Four accent palettes and a light mode, switched from the top bar and remembered on your device. Green stays profit and red stays loss in every one of them — the accent colour never gets to mean a result.

  • Light mode for a bright desk, dark for everything else
  • Night Blue, Emerald, Violet and Slate as accent palettes
  • Contrast checked in both modes, not only the dark one

How it works

Four steps, then it is just reps

The setup takes one evening. After that, logging a trade is a minute of work and the numbers build themselves.

Add your account and its rules

Size, trailing drawdown, daily loss limit, profit target, contract cap, risk per trade. Journare needs these once and then respects them everywhere.

Set up a strategy with a checklist

Your entry conditions, your minimum range, your target multiple. The checklist is meant to be read before you click, not after.

Log the trade while you take it

The calculator sizes the position as you fill it in. Afterwards you add what actually happened, including whether you kept to the plan.

See what holds up

After a few dozen reps the numbers start meaning something: which strategy earns its place, which mistake keeps costing you, whether your discipline is drifting.

Questions

Questions traders ask before signing up

What is a trading journal for?

To answer questions your memory cannot. After a few hundred trades you want to know which strategy actually earns its place, which mistake keeps costing you, and whether you are following your own rules less often than you think. None of that is visible in an account balance, and none of it is reliable from recall.

Which markets does it work for?

It was built for futures, and the calculator speaks in contracts, points and ticks. Anything where you set an entry, a stop and a target fits the journal — stocks, forex, crypto — but the position sizing is aimed at futures traders, so that part will feel most at home there.

Does it work with prop firm accounts?

Yes, and that is what it was built around. You enter your account's rules once — trailing drawdown, daily loss limit, consistency, profit target, contract cap — and every trade you log is checked against them. Journare is not affiliated with any firm and does not connect to one, so unusual terms are just different numbers in a form.

Can I import trades from my broker?

Not yet. Trades are entered by hand at the moment and automatic import is on the list. It is worth saying that writing the trade down is part of what makes the record useful: the calculator is there before the entry, not after it.

Is my trading data private?

Your data sits in a Postgres database with row-level security, which means a row can only be read by the account that created it — not by other users and not by an unauthenticated request. Everything travels over HTTPS. You can delete your account and its data whenever you want. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties.

What does a trading journal like this cost?

Free costs nothing and stays that way: one trade account, one strategy, unlimited trades, every dashboard, the calculator, the calendar, goals and the mistake tracker. Pro removes the limit on accounts and strategies and adds chart screenshots and export — €12 a month or €99 a year, starting with 14 days free. Cancel during the trial and you are not charged.

Why score discipline instead of profit?

Because profit over ten trades tells you almost nothing. The sample is too small, and a good week can just as easily come from a rule you broke and got away with. Whether you followed your own rules is something you control and can measure the same day. If you keep to them and the results still do not come, the strategy is the problem — which is useful to know, and impossible to see when a lucky breach is scored as a win.

iOS and Android are coming. Until then the web app works on a phone, including logging a trade with one hand.
